Martha Ortman is a Florida Registered Paralegal and office manager for the firm. With over 30 years of experience in complex bankruptcy work, Martha applies her extensive background in all aspects of the Chapter 11 reorganization bankruptcy practice at Wernick Law.

Martha’s comprehensive knowledge and understanding of bankruptcy spans the full spectrum of proceedings from both debtor and creditor perspectives. Through her previous legal positions, she developed exceptional adeptness in handling the complex legal processes that are inherent in bankruptcy matters. As a valuable member of the team at Wernick Law, she applies her finely-developed skills in assisting with business and individual Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and in maintaining a high level of efficiency in the management and administrative systems of the office.

Immediately prior to joining Wernick Law, Martha worked as a senior case administrator in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida. Her duties included managing electronic case filings and filing appeals from the Bankruptcy Court in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. While serving in that position, she also served as relief courtroom deputy and scheduling coordinator for the chief bankruptcy judge and other bankruptcy judges.

Martha’s prior experience also includes working as a paralegal at boutique bankruptcy law firms. Throughout the course of more than three decades of bankruptcy work, Martha has played a pivotal role in facilitating the successful restructuring of many companies.
